Teresa Thomas, Program Manager for the South Jersey Traffic Safety Alliance, received a Governors Representative Award for her outstanding contributions and dedication to traffic safety.
Ms. Thomas was one of eleven to receive an award. Presenting the award, Ann Burton, Regional Program Manager, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, said Its hard to believe Teresa has only been doing this for a couple of years. She has done a remarkable job establishing traffic safety programs in a four county region. Her ability to partner with local organizations to institute cost effective and highly visible programs has helped the Alliance become a sought after resource center for South Jersey.
As part of the Traffic Safety Summit Program, Ms. Thomas gave a presentation on writing a grant and the value of partnering to make your grant successful. Other presentations and speakers included: Gary Poedubicky, NJDHTS, Richard Simon, NHTSA, and Angie Armond, NJ Department of Community Affairs. The Keynote Speaker was John F. Jack Lettiere, Jr, Commissioner, NJ Department of Transportation.
Formed in late 1998, the Alliance brings together traffic safety professionals from the fields of law enforcement, emergency services, community education, engineering and planning from Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland and Salem Counties, to promote safe travel.
